One of the latest releases from Attack Kits is the Scout Car with Twin Bren Guns, which expands the company’s range of British World War II military vehicles. The 1:72 scale model depicts an interesting configuration of a light reconnaissance vehicle armed with two Bren machine guns. The kit carries catalogue number 72984 and belongs to the Profi range, which combines traditional plastic parts with highly detailed accessories produced using 3D printing technology.
Humber Scout Car: A Small Reconnaissance Vehicle of the British Army
The subject of the kit is the Humber Scout Car, a British light armoured reconnaissance vehicle developed as an alternative to the Daimler Dingo. The British Army needed additional reconnaissance vehicles because Daimler’s production capacity could not meet all of its requirements. Humber, part of the Rootes Group, therefore took on the production of the vehicle.
The first Humber Scout Cars reached military units in 1942, and production continued until 1945. During this period, factories produced more than 4,000 vehicles. The vehicle used a 4×4 drivetrain and a six-cylinder petrol engine producing approximately 87 horsepower. It could reach a top speed of around 100 km/h, while its compact dimensions and good mobility made it particularly suitable for reconnaissance and liaison duties.
The Humber Scout Car protected its crew against small-arms fire while offering enough mobility to operate alongside armoured units. British forces used the vehicle in various reconnaissance and liaison roles on European and other battlefields during the Second World War.
Twin Bren Guns
The standard armament of the Humber Scout Car consisted of a .303 British Bren machine gun. Some vehicles, however, received a second Bren, which significantly changed both their appearance and their firepower. This interesting configuration is the subject of Attack Kits kit 72984.
The two machine guns used a special mounting positioned in the upper part of the vehicle. This arrangement allowed the crew to operate both weapons and provided more effective protection against enemy infantry. Period photographs also show Humber Scout Cars equipped with this modification during fighting in Western Europe in 1944.
The kit includes vehicle camouflage schemes from Western Europe and Italy from 1944/45, giving modelers the opportunity to build the vehicle in several historically interesting finishes.

Attack Kits 72984 Kit
Scout Car with Twin Bren Guns – Profi, catalogue number 72984, is a 1:72 scale model kit. The kit allows modelers to build a Humber Scout Car in the distinctive configuration armed with two Bren machine guns. It offers an interesting option for anyone looking for a less common British World War II vehicle.
The kit combines traditional injection-moulded plastic parts with modern 3D-printed accessories. The Profi designation highlights the more detailed treatment of selected parts of the model. The box includes, among other components:
- plastic parts for assembling the Humber Scout Car,
- 3D-printed wheels with finely rendered tread and surface details,
- 3D-printed Bren machine guns,
- parts for the distinctive twin Bren gun mounting,
- additional small details needed to complete the model.
The combination of injection-moulded plastic and 3D-printed accessories preserves the classic plastic model-building experience while adding a higher level of detail to areas where fine features are particularly important in 1:72 scale. Attack Kits uses the same concept in several of its newer Profi series kits.

Scout Car with Twin Bren Guns 72984 is more than just another small British armoured vehicle. The distinctive twin Bren machine guns give the Humber Scout Car a striking and less common configuration, making this kit an appealing choice for fans of British military vehicles and modelers looking for an interesting addition to their World War II collection.
